With miles and miles of coastline, the Costa del Sol is the perfect place for nautical activities for all the family. There are a wide variety of venues offering watersports (jet skis, pedaloes, kayaks, pedal boats, parasailing, banana boats, wake-boarding and many more), water parks, scuba diving centres, dolphin spotting trips and yacht charters.

For the epitome of luxury, why not charter a luxury motor yacht and enjoy either half a day or a full day at sea. Spend time with friends and family, soak up the sun and take a refreshing dip in the sea.

Further down the coast, Tarifa on the Costa del la Luz, is the perfect spot for avid kite and windsurfers due to it’s renowned winds and white sandy beaches.

FAMILY FUN

There’s no need to worry about keeping the children entertained. The Costa del Sol boasts a wide range of family theme parks and amusement parks where you can experience an exhilarating day out with fun for all the family.

Just a 30 minute drive from Monte Mayor, this water park is packed with a wide selection of exhilarating water slides and wave pools as well as mini-golf!

Situated in the foot hills of Estepona, and just a 15 minute drive from Monte Mayor, Selwo offers a unique safari experience for all the family. Enjoy the Serengeti Safari and travel by all-terrain vehicles to meet many of Africa’s fauna and the territory in which they live, including close ups of hippos, lions, giraffes and rhinos.

Located in Fuengirola, just 35 minutes from Monte Mayor, Fuengirola Bioparc is split into three habitats: Madagascar, Ecuatorial Africa and South East Asia, which gives visitors the chance to see a wide range of animals, birds and reptiles.

Situated just 40 minutes from Monte Mayor is the magical Butterfly Park of Benalmádena, the largest climate controlled space dedicated to butterflies in Europe. Home to more than 1,500 butterflies from all around the globe.

Based in Benalmádena, some 40 minutes from Monte Mayor is Selwo Marina. The marina hosts a variety of events from dolphin shows to swimming with sea lions – an amazing experience. There are also many other activities and animals to see including penguins, piranhas, pythons and birds, to name just a few.

This spectacular 15 minute journey from the town of Benalmádena to the summit of the Calamorro Mountain is one of the highest points on the Costa del Sol where you will witness unrivalled views of the local coastline, the Sierra Nevada and on clear days, Gibraltar and Africa beyond. At the summit there viewing posts and bird of prey displays.

Also in the town of Benalmádena, located next to the Cable Car base station is Tivoli World, a magical place that the whole family will enjoy. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and illuminated fountains, enjoy the many rides and attractions and take in the shows whilst relaxing in the variety of theme bars and restaurants.

In the town of Torremolinos, just 45 minutes from Monte Mayor, a world of prehistoric monsters awaits. Surrounded by dense sub-tropical vegetation, its eight lakes contain over 300 crocodiles from around the world including a nursery where you can even handle the young.

SHOPPING

When it comes to shopping there is no shortage of choice. Each coastal town has its own range of shops with something for every taste and budget.

On the outskirts of Marbella, the La Cañada shopping centre offers a variety of street brand stores as well as food halls and a large supermarket. Marbella centre also offers a good range of shops and some lovely boutiques where you can find unique designs.

In Puerto Banús, you’ll find El Corte Inglés, the largest department store in Spain offering everything under the sun, as well as designer boutiques including Chloé, Bulgari, Cartier, Fendi, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton and many more.

When it comes to dining out, the options are endless. There are an abundance of restaurants serving typical Spanish cuisine as well as a host of venues offering international dishes.

SKIING

For skiing and snow boarding lovers, the Sierra Nevada, Southern Spain’s premier winter sports resort is only a 2 hour drive away. The resort offers exceptional facilities including a superb range of accommodation, bars and restaurants and lively après ski and nightlife.
